Welcome to the July edition of the SCV Newsletter! 🍾
This month, we’ve achieved a lot. We’ve received over 270 applications from a record number of countries. Thank you to all of the founders who have spent time applying, our team should get back to you soon with the outcome of your applications. Beyond our Accelerator, we are always here to support the EdTech ecosystem, whether it is physical events and competitions, or our EdTech Female Fellowship. Regarding this, we have some exciting events and competitions to announce, such as the Bett Asia Startup Competition and the EdVentures GBA Fellowship 🎉
This month, the Female EdTech Fellowship, a programme run by both SuperCharger Ventures and the European EdTech Alliance, started their Cohort 2.0!
SuperCharger Ventures continues its mission to build the world’s leading EdTech Accelerator.
If you’re not subscribed to the SCV monthly newsletter, well, we can’t really make you can we. This is kind of awkward.

What have we seen this time?
We’ve received over 270 applications from a record number of countries 🎉. We are very happy to see that there is no slow down of EdTech startups, even in a funding environment that is more challenging.
🌍 Our team, after reviewing all these decks, has noticed the emergence of a strong group of startups within the African continent. This is great news, as it means that the ecosystem is gaining strength. We also had many more companies within continental Europe that are looking to join the SuperCharger family.
👉 We are currently busy conducting interviews and performing the due diligence for the selected startups, until then, we wanted to say how grateful we are for founders to consider us, despite being successful in their own respect.
As you may know, acceptance in our programme is competitive. If you didn’t succeed, there are many other opportunities for you to join our community, from our founder slack group, Founders Taboo, and our EFF programme. SuperCharger is here to connect you with the right people. 🤝

🌆 Bett Asia Startup Competition
We're super exited to announce that we are collaborating with Bett Global Asia, to create the first Bett Asia Startup Competition! 🚀
🏆 The competition will convey the very best that Asia’s EdTech startup space has to offer, showcasing cutting-edge innovations that are powering changes in education across the region.
The competition will culminate in an in-person pitching final at Bett Asia 2022, during which eight finalists will compete in front of a shark tank-style judging panel of experts. 🦈
We are excited to announce that one of our co-founders, Alessandro Di Lullo, will be a first stage judge at the Bett Asia Startup Competition.

Partnered with 2 international lenders with collective reach to over 18 countries and 1000+ universities.🎉
New partnership with a large international study platform in Nigeria thereby creating a quality pipeline of students to receive funding from international partners. They are looking to replicate this across other countries in Africa.
Partnered with a local platform giving them reach to over 3000 local primary and secondary schools to aid our local tuition financing.
And they’ve added a puppy to their team named Gamma! (puppy emoji)
Acreditta
Acreditta’s founder, Anabella Laya, will be speaking at the badge summit in USA Colorado.
Spiky.ai
Spiky.ai have been accepted to the zoom marketplace and their app is now live!
They have also just raised and welcomed Amrock Ventures to their group of forward-thinking determined investors!

We had our first session on the 18th of July, led by Svenia Busson, the programme lead.

We are working on an exciting opportunity that could help founders set up European offices or headquarters.
Why do we think Europe is exciting?
👉 European Edtech VC is actually 40% higher than it was at its equivalent point in 2021, as it is now $1.4B in 2022 compared to $1.0B.
👉 More than $200M has been raised by 3 European companies working in 3 different verticals.
👉 There is a strong European ecosystem, with the UK leading on funding as well as deal count.

The SCV Marketing Toolbox 🧰 ~ It’s Time to Find Out What’s Inside 😉
So, what do we do at SCV to keep our marketing as cool, up-to-date, awesome, remarkable, stupendous, extraordinary, awe-inspiring, flabbergasting, and, of course, mind-blowing as it currently is? (Let’s be honest, why else would you be reading this newsletter? 😉)
It’s simple : good tech.
SCV Secret Weapons -
1.) Airtable : We love Airtable. It just keeps us grounded. We have all of our information safely stored on our databases, and we keep our marketing under control with our content calendars.
2.) Lemlist : Lemlist is perfect for email marketing, as it allows you to personalize cold emails, easily automate follow-ups, and engage with leads across all of your marketing channels.
3.) Hootsuite : Do you ever feel like you just need to go on autopilot for a couple of days? Kick back and relax, but yet you feel like you’d have to watch your company go up in flames? Do not fear! Hootsuite is here! Hootsuite allows you to automate all of your social media posts so that you can relax and forget about manually posting everything.
(Don’t worry marketers, it will not put you out of a job. You’ll still have to fight with it every once in a while…. and you may not always win).
4.) Canva : Canva is the place to keep your brand guidelines and colour palettes intact, as it is the perfect platform to create templates easily and not waver on keeping your brand image consistent.
